Los cosméticos que no pueden faltar en tu neceser de viaje

The cosmetics that can't be missing from your travel bag

How to organize your toiletry bag

One of the most common mistakes we make when packing our luggage is leaving the toiletry bag until last. And this is a serious mistake because, whether we like it or not, packing is a chore for everyone, and when we don't know what to pack, we pack anything at all or forget other things.

The toiletry bag is mandatory.

You might be able to do without a specific T-shirt or scarf. But what if you forget the moisturizer you've been using for years and that you know you won't find at every beach bar or in a foreign city?

I know. Sometimes you rush to the last minute to pack your toothbrush or face cream. That's why I suggest you change your mindset and start packing with your travel bag.

Whether you're traveling by plane or not, you want your suitcase to take up as little space as possible, but you don't want to leave anything behind, not even one of your skincare essentials.

If necessary, buy a new toothbrush and prepare a quantity of your usual toothpaste in a reusable jar.

This way, you ensure that you never lack anything.

Start with this: divide your hygiene and cosmetic products into three different types of toiletry bags.

Because?

  • For space : It's easier to fit three small cases in your suitcase than one huge one.
  • For convenience : You'll find everything faster to take care of yourself, even when you're away from home.

Prepare these three toiletry bags:

  • Hair and body hygiene kit : Shampoo, conditioner, hair styling product (if you use it), body wash, body lotion, deodorant, brush or comb, toothbrush and toothpaste.
  • Facial care kit : Cleansing milk, makeup remover, moisturizer, sunscreen, and your makeup essentials. Also includes cotton pads and cotton swabs.
  • Handbag toiletry bag : Lip balm or lipstick, sunscreen, hand cream, eyeliner, mini mirror, blush and brush.

What products should I take? Recommendations to keep in mind:

Attention! Don't go crazy adding all the cosmetics you use at home. It's best to carefully select all-purpose products . This means using them for multiple uses, for example, using them day and night, or including sunscreen in your face cream.
If the products you usually use come in very large bottles or jars, ask your local beauty center if they have mini sizes. And if you can't find them, pack your travel bag with reusable plastic bottles and mini jars.
This way, you can continue to care for your skin the way you do at home, even from the other side of the world.
By the way, it's important not to put your fingers in it; use spatulas and mini funnels to transfer the product from one jar to another.

What is the minimum essential that you need for facial care?

We usually keep our body care under control. And it's not so bad if we use the hotel's shower gel or shampoo for a few days.
But with the face... oh, my friend, that's a different story.
Don't take any chances. Keep in mind that your skin is likely to suffer from the change in climate, so don't use cosmetics your face isn't used to.
You can't imagine how many people come to us with irritated faces or skin that has suffered from the beach, the mountains, or city pollution.
Therefore, another factor to take into account when choosing the cosmetics you take on your trip is the climate you will be exposed to :
  • HUMID CLIMATE : Choose creams with light textures that are not sticky.
  • DRY CLIMATE : Opt for creams with denser, more nourishing textures that provide comfort to the skin.

And now that you know the factors to take into account, the next step is to select what is just and necessary following these three phases of your BEAUTY ROUTINE :

1. CLEANING

Just as you cleanse your body with body wash when you're out and about, you should also wash your face with different products. No hand soap or wipes! Use your usual facial cleanser or one you can use both day and night.

Also, if you're going to wear makeup, add a biphasic eye and lip cleanser to remove all the dirt.

2. HYDRATION

You need an all-purpose serum that provides deep hydration, a facial cream that you can use both day and night, and an eye cream to complete your treatment.
Don't neglect your lips either. Use a lip balm with collagen , which regenerates and moisturizes your lips more quickly.

3. PROTECTION

Sun protection is a must whether you're traveling or not. If you're short on space in your toiletry bag, pack a face cream with SPF and you'll get another two-for-one.

If you prefer to use different creams, use a sunscreen specifically for your face because the same sunscreen you use for your body won't work.

And finally, this phase is additional if your trip is longer than a week: EXFOLIATION .

A sample product or a mini jar would be enough to exfoliate your skin once. This way, you'll regenerate your skin cells and also make your tan last longer.

At Estetic Medic Garvin, we're fans of brands like Mesoestetic, Skinident, Dr. Baumann, Sofía Bertrand, and Lamdors Global System, among others. All of them offer top-quality products and scientifically proven results.
Below, we present a selection of cosmetics you can pack in your travel suitcase to care for your skin just like at home.
Selection of travel-size facial cleansing cosmetics (100 ml or less)

Additionally, we recommend 101 Oligomilk by Sofia Bertrand . Although it's not a travel size, you can pour the product into a reusable jar and use it with cotton pads. This cleansing milk and makeup remover is suitable for all skin types and will leave your skin feeling super soft and smelling pleasant.

Hydrating serums

Serums have a higher concentration of active ingredients , and therefore, the results are more potent. In fact, if you look closely, the texture of most serums on the market is lighter because this way the product penetrates the skin more easily, boosting hydration and anti-aging effects from within.

When we travel and the weather changes, it's more important than ever to maintain this extra hydration.

These are our favorites:

All-terrain moisturizers

Facial moisturizer is a staple for daily skincare, so it should always be in your makeup bag.

Selection of travel-size sunscreens and creams (100 ml or less)

Easy and quick. These are the sunscreens that cover both needs. You'll even find some with a tinted top, which means you can even save on foundation.

They say a forewarned woman is worth two. In this case, we believe that rather than packing your suitcase with "just in case" items, it's better to organize your toiletries ahead of time so your skin doesn't suffer collateral damage .

Temperature changes, airplanes, bacteria, lack of sleep, and changes in routine affect your body more than you think.

This isn't the time to experiment. Prepare your kit of mini products or reusable jars and pamper your skin so it enjoys the journey as much as you do.
